We have seen this issue and it is resolved in 6.5 and they are meant to be releasing a fix for 6.0 in June.

In reply to Mike. we had to download but was provided as beta and link no longer available. the official supported patch I detailed before only applies to update 2. it will not work on anything less.

In reply to Mike. as an fyi, the problem was not down to the NVidia driver. it was the esxi OS itself that had a bug.

I’m running ESXi-6U1, and latest NVidia driver 361.xx, I’ve read on a forum to roll back drivers to 352.70 and will be doing that tonight.

I’ve also change the host power management from balance to high performance.

In reply to Mike. BTW following VMware's tech support recommendation we installed the latest patch (released August 4th and available on the VMware website). It's been two days without crashes. Too early to tell, but we'll wait and see.

the patch we are using is ESXi60U2-HP-1647311 on ESXi update 2 and SR is 16909807803

hopefully you guys get it working too.

you will need to request a patch to resolve this. I’m not sure if it’s generally available yet but we have it and it works well for us.

This should have been made available internally to VMware as well.

Are there any updates to this issue? We’re running ESXi 6.0U2, patched with 201605201; NVIDIA driver latest version 361.49.09 released on June 22, 2016. VMware support is of not much help. Any ideas?

VMware are supplying us with a patch to test. Seems like there could be an issue with esxi itself and not NVidia driver,
