In reply to Sanjeev. the Select Network is not showing for me. but the VM is getting provisioned but with the error "A specified parameter was not correct. key” which doesn't get the static IP that should have been assigned to the VM. Thanks.

Hi, I think there is a bug. I set the property Virtualmachine.network0.Address as 10.1.1.17 and I scripted it so the property Virtualmachine.network0.Name would be automatically selected based on a drop down list. (for example, if the user chose “Texas” my script would set the property to “vlan_1”)

It selected the right vlan but gave me an ip of 10.1.2.15 instead (which is another profile linked to another vlan). It seems it’s just round robining or something and not using the IP set via the property.

The only way I can get it to work is to set the network0.Name property as a property in the blueprint and not scripted via create / update a vcac property on virtual machine entity.

Any insight?

Hi,
yes that is absolutely possible. You can use vCenter Orchestrator to call external IPAM system to get an IP address or asks you for input.

One thing that confuses me is what if we don’t want to use a profie/dhcp scope and want to assign IP’s manually? Is that possible? That is, to not set a network profile and just set the portgroup and an IP manually?
