About

This page is just to give you some information about what to expect from the blog and some information about myself.

Blog information

My initial thought, back in 2013, about the blog was to have an always online resource where i documented technical challenges (and hopefully a solution) i was facing in my daily job. Before it went live i also included architectural challenges and thoughts. However, over the years I have also start including release notes for various products. With this in mind it means some blog post will be more like notes instead of long blogs.

I believe there are many talented and skillful bloggers in the virtualization community doing a good job keeping track of new influences so i will most likely stay away from from:)

I, Magnus Andersson, am a Sr. Principal Product Manager (yeah that’s a long title) at Nutanix targeting Era DBaaS, hyperconverging clouds, automation, orchestration and disaster recovery. I have been part of solution development, feature development across multiple Nutanix products and in addition writing reference architectures, best practices guides and white papers.

Been with Nutanix almost 8 years now and before that my main focus the past 3 years before joining Nutanix was creating design and implement VMware vRealize Automation formerly known as (vCloud Automation Center), VMware vCloud Director and VMware Horizon View solutions but also e.g. vSphere implementation and upgrading, performance troubleshooting. I’m working, among other things, with the above described technologies in my daily job.

As a VMware trainer (VCI) i held classes in several countries including Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, England, India, Italy, Malaysia, Norway, Singapore, South Korea, US and Sweden.

In June 2015 i become the 5:th Nutanix Platform Expert (NPX) in the world and the first in Europe.

I started my advanced certification path back in October 2010 when i become the 56:th VMware VCDX (VCDX3) and also the first in the Nordic countries. I have upgraded the VCDX certification to also include VCDX4 and VCDX5. In September 2013 i added the second available VCDX certification, VCDX-Cloud, to my resume meaning i become the second person worldwide holding both the VCDX-DCV and VCDX-CMA (previously called VCDX-Cloud) certifications.

Thanks to my wonderful family who supports me in my career and makes this blog possible.
