Correct if that is needed which depends on requirements. In my case we didn&#039;t have to care about user specific data. All data that matters was stored in business systems meaning the VDIs were more or less like kiosk VDIs. 
As you points out the user data must also be made highly available between the sites if real active/active for personalised VDIs is needed and there a file services that can be used with built-in replication if needed/required
