Nutanix Database Service (NDB) 2.5.1.2

Today, 2023-02-02, Nutanix has released a new version of Nutanix Database Service, NDB, meaning the latest release available is 2.5.1.2. Yes it’s a dot dot dot release but it brings a nice new capability to the table for customers using NDB Control Plane in HA mode. When you enable HA mode there is now an option to defined IP address per component and in addition to that you can also specify the hostname for each of the appliances deployed in a NDB Control Plane High Availability (HA) setup according to:

• 3 x API Servers where 1 is the first NDB Server created so two new API servers are created for HA purposes.
• 3 x Repo Servers running the PostgreSQL HA environment
• 2 x HA Proxy Servers.

Apart from the NDB Control Plane IP and hostname enhancement there are improvements in the following areas:

• NDB Server
• Oracle
• MSSQL
• MongoDB
• PostgreSQL
• Common layer – engine spanning all DB engines.
• SQL Server

The following software versions are supported with NDB 2.5.1.2

• AOS – 6.5, 6.1.1, 6.1, 6.0.x, 5.20.x, 5.15.x
• AHV – versions bundled with AOS 6.5, 6.1.1, 6.1,6.0.x, 5.20.x, 5.15.x
• vSphere 7.0, 6.7, and 6.5
