In April last year i wrote a blog post about the release of Nutanix vRealize Automation reference architecture which you can find here. A few weeks ago version 2.0 of the document was released and there are quite a few changes which you might have seen in the blog post Nutanix AHV, OpenStack & vRealize Automation. vRealize Automation is a framework, multiple infrastructure like components required, for building a self service portal including PaaS and IaaS with governance and change control the Nutanix vRealize Automation reference architecture follows VMware reference architecture in terms of vRA component layout and provisioning capacity.

You will find the following headings in the reference architecture and these will give you a good idea of what to expect from the  document:

  • Nutanix Enterprise Cloud Platform Overview
  • Application Overview (including vRA, vSphere, AHV, OpenStack)
  • Nutanix and vRealize Automation

One major change in Nutanix vRealize Automation reference architecture v2.0 compared to version 1.0 is Nutanix AHV, Nutanix hypervisor, and OpenStack which can be used as an building blocks for both vRA Management cluster and vRA resource cluster in addition to VMware ESXi and vCenter Server according to the below figures.

For exiting customers or people with an Nutanix portal account you can view the document as a PDF via this link.
