Nutanix Xpress

Yesterday, 2016-05-24, Nutanix announced a new offering that will bring the Nutanix Enterprise Cloud to the SMB market. If you find this interesting i suggest you sign up for the virtual launch even that will be held June 28 using the following link.

The Nutanix Xpress software edition will include the following capabilities and features:

• One-click Infrastructure Management
• Performance Acceleration
• Capacity Optimization
• Converged Local Backups
• Metro Availability
• Cloud Connect

Nutanix AHV will be pre-installed but the solution will support all three hypervisors currently supported by Nutanix meaning Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware ESXi in addition to AHV.

The Xpress Model/Nutanix Node is called SX-1065 unlike the existing Nutanix models/Nodes called NX and consists of the following options:

• Server Compute
  • Dual Intel Broadwell: E5-2609v4 [16 cores, 1.7GHz]
  • Dual Intel Broadwell: E5-2620v4 [16 cores, 2.1 GHz]
  • Dual Intel Broadwell: E5-2640v4 [20 cores, 2.4 GHz]
• Memory
  • 64GB, 128GB, 256GB or 512GB
• Storage Capacity
  • 1x SSD [480 GB, 800 GB,960 GB, 1.2 TB, 1.6 TB, or 1.9 TB]
    2x HDD [2 TB, 4 TB or 6 TB]
• Network Connections
  • 2x 1 GbE, 1x 1GbE RJ45 (IPMI)
  • Add-on: Dual-Port 1 GbE or Dual-Port 10 GbE
    or Quad-Port 10 GbE or Dual-Port 10 GBASE-T
