In reply to John. Thanks for your comment John, Guess they will achieve better security but it requires throughout procedures to manage these things. In this customer case, the passwords are written down on a piece of paper and locked in a safe. From my perspective, i just had to respect the policy while on site during the POC.

And what do these companies accomplisch with 24 character passwords? Less security because passwords are written down.
Don’t forget that most hacks are done from people Inside the company and not from computer systems. And how do these people find these passwords: indeed, they read them on a piece of paper, in a file, on the back of a keyboard, …

HI,
I have experienced the same problem in other products also to use special characters in passwords. so the council is to not use these if possible.
If it only be used so be sure to use the correct keyboard character set as the product is developed with.
Of course, hard to know, but try a few and hope to succeed.
