VMware ESXi 6.0.0b released

“VMTurbo"
Yesterday, 2015-07-07, mwMware released a patch for their ESXi 6 and it’s called ESXi 6.0.0b. As always, evaluate if the fixes  included in a release is required for your environment and if it is the patch can be downloaded here.

Some of the issues resolved in this release includes:

  • NTP package updated
  • Unable to monitor hardware status on an ESXi host
  • Unable to monitor hardware status with vCenter Server
  • Memory leak in CIM providers while sending CIM Indications
  • After upgrading firmware, false alarms might appear in the Hardware Status tab
  • ESXi host might become unusable with no connectivity until reboot
    • When an ESXi host has three or more vmknics, if you reset network settings from DCUI or apply a Host Profile where the vmknics are on a DVS, including the management vmknic, a Hostctl exception might occur. This might cause the host to become unusable with no connectivity until it is rebooted.
  • ESXi host might lose network connectivity after enabling port mirroring sessions
  • VMware Tools might fail to automatically upgrade when the VM is powered on for the first time

VMware vCenter Server 6.0.0b was also released yesterday and a blog post about it can be found here.
