VMware Horizon 7.1 released

Quite a lot of my customers are running Horizon View as their Desktop virtualisation solution and a few days ago, 2017-03-16, VMware released a new version meaning the most current Horizon View version is now 7.1. For a dot release I must admit there are quite a lot of new features and enhancements. To name a few new that looks really interesting from my point of view and also based on customer input I would say:

  • VMware Blast Extreme
  • URL redirection for Cloud Pod Architecture (CPA)
  • Security where you can hide domain and server information
  • Instant Clone new features
  • Server component support for Windows Server 2016

  • vSphere Platform
    • vSphere Virtual Machine Encryption (in vSphere 6.5) for full clone desktop pools is supported.
