A few days ago, 2018-04-20, VMware released a new version of vRealize Orchestrator Appliance (vRO), formerly known as vCenter Orchestrator (vCO), meaning the latest and greatest vRealize Orchestrator version is now 7.5 (7.5.0)
There are some really good news in this release and the below once are the most critical from my point of view:
- The embedded Postgres database is clusterable and supports failover
- vCenter Server Appliance Management Interface (VAMI) now takes care of:
- Database configuration
- Join cluster nodes
- Remove cluster node
- Inspect inputs and outputs of the nested workflows after run is completed
There is no upgrade option available to get to the 7.5.0 release but there is a migration path. Haven’t tried it yet but I really hoe it is a streamlined and easy process. To get to vRealize Orchestrator 7.5.0 do the following if you run:
- 6.0.x today you migrate to 7.5.
- 5.5.x today you upgrade to vRealize Orchestrator 6.0.x and then migrate to 7.5.
Important
vRealize Orchestrator 7.5 release does no longer support:
- Microsoft SQL database
- Oracle Database
- SNMPv3
