So it has been a few months since the Nakivo Backup & Replication version 7 beta program started and today the software was released. I have written about all the new features and functionality included in this release before but I’ll include the summary further down in this blog post anyway.
To get started click here or the below figure to get your software copy which includes a free trial as well.
This is a summary of what’s included in Nakivo Backup & Replication v7.

- Image-based based backups
- Application aware backups
- Forever incremental backups
- File recovery
- Exchange object recovery
- Active Directory object recovery
- Ability to replicate backups to:
- AWS
- Azure
- Hyper-VM replication. The replication VMs are:
- Image-based
- Application aware
- Forever incremental
- vSphere 6.5 Support including support for the new features e.g.:
- VM Encryption
- VM attributes
- Automatically skip VM swap files for both Hyper-V and vSphere based VMs.
- Active Directory integration. This means you can now let active directory manage authentication and take advantage of grouping users in existing directory and there is no need for Nakivo specific user management.

- Older than X days
- Backups that do not belong to a backup job
