Nutanix AOS & Prism Central Version 5.11 & More Released

Yesterday, August 5:th 2019, Nutanix released new version of their core HCI product Nutanix Acropolis Operating System (AOS) formerly known as Nutanix Operating System (NOS). In addition there was a new version released, matching AOS 5.11, for Prism Central, Calm version 2.7.1 and AHV plus Nutanix Objects was declared GA with version 1.0.

AOS 5.11 is a Short Term Support (STS) release and you can read more about difference between STS and Long Term Support (LTS) releases here.

Pretty a hectic day for the release management team since they also released AOS & Prism Central 5.10.6 which is a LTS and you can read more about that release here.

Here is the list of all new software versions released.

  • Runbooks support for ESX (ESX -> ESX and ESX -> Xi)
  • NearSync support for Files
  • Network Segmentation for Volumes
  • Metro Availability (ESX) – simplify failback procedure
  • Nutanix Objects GA
  • AHV UEFI Guest Support
  • Category-based RBAC for AHV VM Management
  • Bridge and uplink management for AHV
  • Image Service Updates
  • DRaaS Cross Hyperviser DR
