Today, 2018-10-18, Nutanix released a new dot dot release of AOS. It’s a Long Term Support (LTS) release meaning the latest and greatest LTS is now 5.5.7.
As mentioned before Prism Central and AOS are no longer released same time but e.g. Prism Central version 5.9 can manage the following AOS released:
- 5.9 through 5.9.0.x
- 5.8 through 5.8.2.x
- 5.6 through 5.6.2.x
- 5.5 through 5.5.x.x
Other Prism Central versions that can manage AOS 5.5.7 are:
- 5.9
- 5.8.x
- 5.8
- 5.7.1.x

AOS 5.5.7 is a Long Term Supported (LTS) Release that will be maintained till April 2019 and supported until Oct 2019. Please refer to KB#5505 for an explanation and how it differs from a Short Term Supported (STS) Release.
