Nutanix Database Service (NDB) 2.10

Yesterday, 2025-03-03, a new version of Nutanix Database Service has been released meaning the latest & greatest NDB version is 2.9. This release comes with a lot of new features and capabilities.

Highlighted New Features & Functionality

  • Prism Central and Object Store management via NDB UI.
    • Prism Central – register, update, or remove
    • Object Store – create, register, or remove
  • Custom Drive Letter Support for SQL Server database data, log and tempdb disks
  • Define the IP address for SQL server DB Server VM, Windows Cluster IP address, Availability Group IP address per Nutanix Cluster, Availability Group Name, Availability Group Listener Port. This is applicable for both provisioning and clone operations.
  • Backup & restore including point-in-time-recovery (PITR) for MongoDB Sharded Clusters via an integration with MongoDB OpsManager.
  • MySQL High Availability provisioning via NDB UI in addition to API and CLI.

Improvements

  • Support for PostgreSQL version 18 with:
    • Rocky Linux 9.7 – Community Edition & EDB
    • RHEL 9.7 – Community Edition & EDB
    • Ubuntu 24.04 – Community Edition & EDB
    • Debian 12 – Community Edition
  • VLANs managed by Flow Virtual Networking Network Controller are now supported for all DB engines and NDB Control Plane.
  • A mix of different VLAN types (basic VLANs, VLANs, and overlay subnets) can be used within a MongoDB cluster network profile. Not supported for other DB engines.
  • KMS master key and certificate rotation for MongoDB Enterprise Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) .
  • Enhanced Log Collection with Time-Range-Based filtering

  • AHV versions supported by AOS 7.3, 7.0, and 6.10
  • vSphere versions 8.0
  • Prism Central 2024.2, 2024.3 and 7.3
  • Objects version 5.1 and 5.2
