As the blog post heading reveal this one will be about Nutanix Era security. Sine i trust most of my readers now know what Era is and can to for your business i will not describe the solution but instead dive into the topic right away.
Commonly discussed topics in regards to security i have with potentially new and also existing Nutanix Era customers are:
- Accounts
- Authentication
- Entity Sharing
- Firewall
- Network Placement
- Patch Management
- Secure Socket Layer (SSL)
The discussion that tends to drive the most questions, might come as a surprise for some of you, is the Accounts one since there are quite a few accounts and relations involved in an Era solution including:
- Era management plane
- Database
- Database VM(s)
I have put together a document, Nutanix Era Security, where all the topics listed initially are discussed and explained. This is version 1.0 of the doc and it will be updated.
Things like port diagrams and a few other things are not discussed since the source of truth for this information is the Nutanix Era guide, current version is 2.1, which is constantly updated when new versions are released.
