Yesterday, 2019-03-13, Nutanix released Move version 3.0 and for those of you who never heard about it it’s actually the new name for the good old Nutanix Xtract for Virtual Machines. One of the most significant improvements in this version is that you can now migrate VMs from Hyper-V to AHV meaning the following sources can be used when migrating workload to AHV:
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) – EBS backed EC2
- Microsoft Hyper-V
- VMware ESXi – via vCenter Server
In addition to adding support for Hyper-V the following new features are included in Move 3.0:
- 1-Click Upgrade functionality from the Move UI.
- Improved Event Notification.
- Mixed Mode to Prepare VMs for Migration
- Nutanix Move Services Managed by Docker
- Private Key Authentication for Source ESXi VMs
