A new version of Nutanix Move which is the a virtual machine magration tool, which I guess most of you are familiar with, was released today 2019-12-04. This means the latest and greatest version is 3.4.
The following new features has been added to the 3.4 release:
- Set timezone of migrated VMs to the target cluster timezone
- Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2019 (Standalone and Cluster) is now supported
- Support for RHEL version 7.6 – Supported for ESXi to AHV, ESXi to ESXi and Hyper-V to AHV migration.
- Support for Physical RDM
In addition there is a tech preview (not to be used for production use cases) to migrate AHV VMs to AWS.
This means you can now perform migrations between the following platforms/vendors:
- VMware ESXi to Nutanix AHV
- VMware ESXi on legacy infrastructure to VMware ESXi on Nutanix
- Microsoft Hyper-V to Nutanix AHV
- AWS EC2 to Nutanix AHV
- Nutanix AHV to AWS EC2 – tech preview
As you can see, great migration capabilities with Nutanix Move.
