A few days ago, 2015-02-12, VMware released an updated version, 5.6.4, of vCloud Director (vCD) for service provides. This release, since it’s a minor one, focus on fixing potential problem but one thing i know will be useful is the option of upgrading existing vCD installation (versions 5.5.2 and 5.5.2.1) to vCD 5.6.4.
The following guest operating systems have been added:
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7
- Ubuntu 14.04
- SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12
- CentOS 6.5
- CentOS 7
- Oracle Linux 6.5
- Oracle Linux 7
Below are a few of the fixes including in the vCD 5.6.4 release that i have seen in the field:
- Attempts to download media files from a public catalog fail
- Guest customization fails with a Sysprep error “Mount directory C: does not exist”
- Windows Server 2008, 2008 R2, and 2012 virtual machines ask you to reset the guest operating system password after you customize the virtual machine with SID change and password reset
- Autologon for non-administrator incorrectly disabled
- Trying to assign a NAT IP to a vApp routed network set to manual fails with error Invalid IP address for external network
- Datastores are inaccessible after being moved to storage pods
