Last week, 2014-10-07, VMware released VMware vCloud Director 5.6 for Service Providers (vCD-SP). The following issues have been solved:
- OpenSSL security issues CVE-2014-0224, CVE-2014-0198, CVE-2010-5298, and CVE-2014-3470 in the Client Integration Plug-in
- No vApp upload or download option for catalog and vApp authors

As Tomas Fojta describes in his VCD-SP 5.6 Upgradability article there is no upgrade path from the most recent release of vCloud Director 5.5.2 so if you are a service provider you can either stand up a new vCD-SP 5.6 installation or wait for the next vCD-SP release which will include an upgrade path from vCD 5.5.2.
