INF2311 vCenter Server Architecture & Deployment Deep Dive
Same schedule for this presentation as last year, 09:00 AM day after VMworld party. Nice being up early so you don’t miss anything:)
As usual, this is a really good session and i picked up a few interesting things in terms of future deployment profiles. Without revealing too much, which we can’t, i can tell a new component will be included in next version of vCenter Server. This component will work as an umbrella managing quite a few services.
INF2427 DRS: Advanced Concepts, Best Practices & Future Functions
Another good session where a learned about a few things in regards of Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS) advanced settings and cool under the hood stuff. DRS will be even better in vSphere 6.0 since it will include 15-20 additional metrics for an infrastructure not included today:)
MGT2487 – Built to be Extended: vCloud Automation Center
My last breakout session was about the product i have worked most with the past year vRealize Automation (vRA) mostly know as vCloud Automation Center (vCAC). After going through the vRA concept and components, there was a 20 minute live demo and i think it was a really good one. Components like build profiles, property dictionary and more were covered and use cases were presented. Also some plugins were covered to e.g. create your own virtual machine naming standard.
Solutions exchange
Spend some time at the solutions exchange looking into solution, most backup related stuff. Also had a few really good use case discussion.
