Yesterday, 2016-03-15, VMware released a minor patch for vRealize Automation meaning the new version is now 7.0.1. However, even though this is a minor patch it includes quite a lot of fixes and also a few new features and enhancements to existing feature.
Three major new enhancements are included:
- Provides a management agent to automate the installation of Windows components and to collect logs
- Automates the deployment of all vRealize Automation components
- Provides an installation wizard to automate a Minimal or Enterprise installation
Some of the fixes that will solve problems i have seen are:
- On Windows Server 2012 R2, the Prerequisite Checker incorrectly shows Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator Service as fixed
- After you upgrade to vRealize Automation 7.0, duplicate catalog items for the same business group appear in the catalog
- During installation or upgrade, a validation error message appears and the installation fails
- When you submit a request for a catalog item, the request fails and the submit button disappears
- During the installation or upgrade of vRealize Automation 7.0, RegistryKeyPermissionCheck warning appears even though the user has rights
- Internal Server Error appears while configuring Directories Management
- When you change a quota setting in a blueprint, the setting change is removed when you publish the blueprint
It can be downloaded here and the release notes can be found here.
Happy patching….
