Yesterday, 2017-08-22, Zerto released a new version of their Zerto Virtual Replication (ZVR) and there are quite a enhancements and new features available. As I know many of my readers will be at VMworld next week it makes sense to step by the Zerto boot #630 and check out all goodness. Below is a short summary of the 5.5 news:
- Support for vSphere 6.5 which I know will make quite a few of my readers and customers happy.
- Additional functionality added to the Application Programming Interface (API).
- Automated Recovery to & from Microsoft Azure including:
- bi-directional data protection
- Support for VMs, Virtual Protection Group (VPG), One to many replication & journaling
- Upgrade process since there is now one upgrade process for all ZVR components.
- Recovery enhancements for AWS including e.g.:
- Automatic (on the fly) conversions from VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V to AWS
- Improved recovery times by up to 6x
- Zerto Analytics including e.g.:
- Real time information based on the ongoing/real time replication
- Aggregate/consolidated information from several ZVMs
- Support for Hyper-V SCVMM 2016.
