Nutanix Database Service (NDB) Remove Nutanix Cluster

There might be situations where you need to remove a Nutanix cluster which is being managed by Nutanix Database Services (NDB). This can easily be done via via API and UI but there are certain pre-requisites that needs to be in place before you can start the process including:

  • The NDB Server VM must not be present on the Nutanix cluster.
  • If NDB HA is enabled, then none of the NDB Server VM node must be present on the Nutanix cluster.
  • All Time Machines must be removed from the Nutanix cluster.
  • No Time Machines may be configured to replicate to the Nutanix cluster.
  • All Database Server VMs must be removed from the Nutanix cluster.

When all the above pre-requisites are met you rmeove the Nutanix cluster, via UI, via the Administration section, select Nutanix Clusters, click the Nutanix cluster you’d like to remove, click Cluster Actions and select Remove.

See NDB User Guide section Nutanix Cluster Management for additional operations available at the Nutanix cluster level.
