Thank you Nutanix engineering – with Prism 2021.7 we are getting:
AHV SyncRep & Auto restart applications after cluster failure – Witness/Recovery Plan integration
This is very critical for many, at least european customers i’m working with, and a great step of taking on even more business critical applications on Nutanix AHV. This means you can now configure a witness service to automate the disaster recovery of your applications protected with Synchronous replication to another AHV cluster in the same availability zone.
The witness service works as expected and monitors the connectivity of your AHV clusters and if connectivity fails to the primary AHV cluster for the specified period of time, the service automatically runs an unplanned failover and starts the protected VMs on the recovery AHV cluster.
This feature alone is worth its own release…………….
Having that said, Nutanix Prism Central 2021.7 has ben released and it comes with many other pretty awesome features e.g.:
