Nutanix AOS 6.0, AHV 20201105.2076 & Prism Central 2021.5 Released

I usually don’t blog about Nutanix AOS Short Term Support (STS) releases but i wanted to make you aware of that a new major version of Nutanix AOS has been released some time ago meaning the latest and greatest AOS STS release is 6.0

As expected it comes with quite a few improvements and new features including e.g:

Reserve Rebuild Capacity – This is something i have been involved for some time and it’s a first step to provide improved availability and resiliency
Rebuild Progress Indicator and ETA
Brownfield AES
Metdata pre warm operation to ensure minimal performance impact during certain CVM failure scenarios
Enhanced NearSync Replication Schedules for VStore Protection – 20 sec RPO.
LACP support for expand cluster
Switch Port ANalyzer (SPAN) / port mirroring
Acropolis Distributed Scheduler (ADS) support for Virtual GPUs VMs
Self Service Portal supports OpenLDAP users
vCenter Server Capacity Runway
Nvidia vGPU Console Support

AOS 6.0 which comes with AHV version 20201105.2076 and can be managed the most recent Prism Central release meaning pc.2021.5.
