Yesterday, 2019-04-11, VMware release an updated to VMware vSphere 6.7 meaning the latest and greatest release is now VMware vSphere 6.7. U2 and finally the following important functionality is added….
vCenter Server 6.7 Update 2 adds support for a Swedish keyboard in the vSphere Client and VMware Host Client
Now on to the other less important stuff:)
The following new features, enhancements and fixes are included in VMware vSphere 6.7 U2 release
- You do not risk to get an ESXI host purple screen of death when enabling the vDistributed Network Switch (vDS) health check.
- Network File System (NFS) and Server Message Block (SMB) are now supported protocols for file-based backup and restore of the vCenter Server Appliance (VCSA) – good stuff
- Send email or SNMP messages based on VCSA backup job status – even better stuff
- Virtual Hardware Version 15 including support for VMs with up to 256 virtual CPUs. For more information about virtual hardware check out the following Knowledge Base articles:
- Support to sequential select MAC addresses from MAC address pools.
- Added functionality for vSphere Update Manager in vSphere client.
- vSphere Client now includes a developer mode where you can:
- Capture your clips and get it as code output – just hit the record button to the top right
- API Explorer from where you can run REST commands without additional authentication.
- VMFS6 is now supported by the vSphere On-disk Metadata Analyzer (VOMA) which lets you solve potential issues with the VFMS metadata.
- VMFS6 automatic unmap support
- A new ESXCLI standalone package available for Linux. New features are not include into the vSphere Command Line Interface (CLI).
- vSphere Health Аlarm and Categories plus Auditing improvements
- Solarflare 10G and 40G network adaptors
In addition to vCenter Server and ESXi VMware also release new version of the below products:
- VMware vSphere Replication is now version 8.1.2
- VMware vRealize Orchestrator Appliance is now version 7.6.0
- VMware vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager is now version 2.1
- VMware vRealize Operations Manager is now version 7.5
- VMware vRealize Business for Cloud is now version 7.6.0
- VMware vRealize Log Insight is now version 4.8.0
- VMware vRealize Automation is now version 7.6.0 – separate blog post coming soon about this release
